We are supporting a local children’s charity this Christmas with a donation of toys.
The festive donation to Children North East comes as we recognise the difficulties some children and their families will be facing this Christmas, which will be especially hard for those facing financial hardship.
Our offices in Leeds and Stokesley have also donated toys to local charities Leeds Children’s Hospital and the Teesside Charity respectively.
Children North East delivers services, support and initiatives that provide a platform for children, young people and families to work through issues, take action and provide them with the tools to reach their full potential.
These include therapeutic services, mental health support, youth work, family support, domestic abuse services, community-based support, consultations with young people and Poverty Proofing®.
Emma Gibson, who has organised the donation, said: “We’ve bought toys to donate this year because Christmas can be a real struggle for some families. If a few presents from us help a child wake up to something special on Christmas morning then it’s worth doing. We’re very aware of how lucky we are and there are many families who aren’t in that position so this felt like a simple way for us to do our part.”
Leigh Elliott, chief executive at Children North East, said: “We are very grateful to RWO for their generosity to our Be a Lifeline campaign this year, supporting babies, children, young people and their families across the North East during this festive season. This time of year can be difficult for families facing financial hardship and every toy, game and item donated helps them enjoy a Christmas as a family and make special memories.”
